My new best friends, the nations solicitors!

Am I being old fashioned or over sensitive? Recently did an online conveyancing quote via a comparison site. I have now had several calls from the various firms that quoted for my business (despite the site saying that I would not get these phone calls). The thing is, when they have called me I answered the phone and they have said 'can I speak to Daniel please', i.e. using my first name rather than my last as if they are a pal of mine!
Is this current protocol because it seems very strange to me, if I am about to embark on the biggest purchase of my life I would want to be on a very professional level with my solicitor rather than 'best mates'. It did not give a very good first impression, I found it quite rude and off-putting

I wouldn't do it.
Firstly because my firm doesn't use these type of websites and secondly because I always take my lead from the client as to how they want to be addressed.
For example, if they email/phone me and say "Hello Seabright" I'd use their first names, but if they said "Hello Miss Seabright" I'd refer to them in the same way, if you see what I mean.
Just better manners, I think.0 -
I expect more from my friends than them just calling me by my first name.
If they start turning up in the pub on a Friday and buying you beer then start worrying.0 -
