Questions for all who have used Drivethedeal

I am looking to buy a Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 Exclusive Auto with pearlescent paint and rear parking sensors.

Price offered by dealer after cashback, trade in and 0% finance is £13,940.
He may also include, jewelbright treatment (£300) Mats (£?) and a second remote key (£70)

Drivethedeal can do the car for £12,611 if you include the extra's above it comes to approx £13,031.

This is a saving of over £900 which seems to much to give up. Is there anyone out there that can tell me about their exprience with drive the deal. Did you do p/e, have read that DTD don't do p/e but not what their sites says. It stipulates that you get the same exact deals from the dealer as if you had walked in from the street.

Can you order your extra's like the keys, mats, polish protection etc.

Do you end up having to drive to Outer Mongolia for your car.

Our local dealer has already said that they cannot match the online prices and they own all the local citroen dealerships (Evans Halshaw part of the Pendragon Group). Should I try dealers myself a little further afield or should I go straight to drive the deal.

All input appreciated.
£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

    Hi,

We bought an Audi A4 through them. Basically you order the car you want, then a UK main dealer contacts you. You then deal with the main dealer, drivethedeal just put you in touch with the dealer. Really simple, our car was delivered from Scotland to the front door. We saved £2000. So yes you can sort all the extras you like.

I bought my A3 from Broadspeed, again they work in exactly the same way as drivethedeal just they had a better price.

Neither would part ex, just sold our cars on ebay.

It seems to get these deal (Citroen) you have to get one from stock, so if you want a specific colour (which I do) and they can't get it then I would not necessarily get the deals that are currently offered. A dealer has done a search and there is only one in the country in the colour and spec that I want. Its on another dealers books so they would have to do a dealer transfer.

What about if the car has a problem, can you still take it back to the dealer or will be the dealer flob you off as you didn't buy the car of them?

Do a search on Ebay for Diamondbrite which is jewelbright, check the web site out http://www.jewelultra.com/diamondbrite.htm
You can get the main application stages 1&2 from ebay for less than £10 even the aftercare stuff is available for similar prices on ebay or buy that from the official web site if you like.
Apply stages 1&2 yourself, very easy just like normal polish, you know its been done properly and save yourself £280ish ;)

The warranty on the car is with the dealer network in the UK - not the supplying dealer so you can take it to any dealer for warranty work, however if the car arrives damaged then thats different. I bought a car (funnily enough citroen picasso) over the phone from a dealer 150 miles away - they delivered the car and then asked me to pay ove rthe phone by switch when the car was delivered so that worked well. AT the time they were really cheep but dont know if they still discount - it was Dutton Foreshaw Citroen in Preston.
