Another day another new HL promoted fund

The market must be getting frothy as new funds, it appears, are being launched by the day.
This time it's Schroders with Global Alpha Plus managed by Virginie Maisonneuve.
I fell out of love with Schroders several years ago as their performance was (IMO) lacklustre but, for the last year or two, the minimal investments I have with them seem to have picked up somewhat. As I have pension cash available and this fund fits in with my risk and geographic requirement, I will be making a small investment.
Anyone any views on the fund or manager's track record?

I have had a schroders fund recently, I thought slow and steady might be their forte. How far they fall back is probably more important

Virginie Maisonneuve, the fund manager, tells us "It's a great product" and H-L have put it on their Wealth 150 list before it's even been launched. What better endorsement could anyone want...?
(Assuming you trust H-L recommendations as far as you could throw them of course.)

If HL have put it straight in the Wealth 150 list and are being paid to market it then you should disregard the anything they say about it. Use independent research. Dont rely on product provider research.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

I have nothing to add to my previous comments regarding this company.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0

It would have been better still if they called it Schroders ENHANCED Global Alpha Plus fund0

I see that though poor old Dampier's pic is used on the "Our view of this fund" panel, the comment seems to be from cheeky chappie Mr Hargreaves his boss:
"When I asked Mark Dampier why this new fund is on the Wealth 150, his answer reminded me of an amusing story I once heard..." The punchline is "The Australian stockbroker looked back and said (sadly I can't write in an Australian accent) - 'I think the market's going up'".
Hoho, it's the way he tells 'em. Presumably Dampier couldn't be persuaded to put his name to it (or couldn't think of a decent excuse to put it in the Wealth 150).
With the amount of investment now going through companies like H-L the problem of advertising posing as advice needs a look at by the FSA.0
