Firstly, apologies if this is in wrong forum.
I'd like to know if anyone has had experience with ICS courses? I called today, as I'd like to take GCSE's in maths and english, and was quoted around £300 per course, but they are currently running an offer till end of the month at £150.
If anyone has had any experience with them or would like to comment I'd really appreciate it.
Mods, please move if in wrong forum!

Ask about Learn Direct - they will let you do Literacy and Numeracy Stage 2 (equivalent to GCSE) free.
I even got vouchers for passing the exams and a fancy desk clock arrived in the post a few weeks later."This site is addictive!"

My local colleges offer GCSE courses for £130. Free if you are on a means tested benefit, £300 is a complete rip-off!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

All Adult Education Centres also offer the Literacy and Numeracy Stage 2 courses and exams (equivalent to GCSE) free of charge.Competitions wins 2010

Is that combined course the best option for someone who only needs the Maths side of it?No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

No the courses are separate and you can just sit the exams if you wish in either maths or english or do both.Competitions wins 2010

Thanks for the replies.
It has to be a distance learning course as I return to work in a few weeks.
I've asked Learn direct for a course guide, and have also contact ICS for the same.
I take it no one has used them!? LOL"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
I am currently doing a course in GCSE Maths and GCSE Law with ICS, and i can honestly say i won't be doing any more courses with them. By the way, do you know that you will have to find a school to sit the exams yourself, as ICS is not an examination centre.
Good Luck, with what ever you choose,

Thanks for that. What kind of problems are you having with them? I received the information pack this morning and am having a look.
ICS explained that I'd have to go to a college to sit this exam and that these fees are excluded.

Basically the contact between the departments is really bad and that effects everything i do. Alot of people are having trouble finding a college to sit their exams. I would suggest you sign up to their community forum on their website and read some of the stories there. The fees for sitting the exam is about £45 but it can be higher, there is not really a set price.

Thanks a lot, have looked on that site and am not impressed.
Luckily, I passed a learn direct centre today, and they are currently offering the course free *fees apply from September* So i'm going in for my assessment on Friday.
Big thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread.
