My furnish my house for free challenge

HI all
I haven't been on here for a while, but have been thinking about the forums for a while.
I've set myself a challenge and would like to hear from people who are doing/have done something similar.
Recently we (me & Husband) moved from a furnished rental to an unfurnished rental and I have set myself the target of furnishing the place for free. Rather than looking at old or second hand furniture we have discovered the fun of auctions. This weekend we bought a great modular lounge suite, brand new, for $1000. It usually retails for about $3500. Our plan is to sell this for between $1500 and $2000 and repeat the process a few times until the whole house is furnished (and hopefully recoup our original $1000 in the process).
What do you think?
