No there was nothing to sit on and no spare seats at the back.

I did go to the loo before it started, but we were sat next to the orchestra pit and when they played a loud bit of music, my baby went mental and was kicking my bladder to death :o:rotfl:

I remember going to see Merchant of Venice in London when I was heavily pregnant with my first child and having to make a few loo trips - luckily I had anticipated this and booked aisle seats so I didn't disturb people too much.

I do think we can be excused in that condition!

BTW I think it's disgusting that your theatre made you stand - obviously nobody with any authority there knew what it was like to be pregnant!

we watched Lion King and the person behind us knew the show word perfect , unfortunately he insisted on reciting it 10 secs before the actors did !

We did wonder about complaining but decided that they theatre will probably say they are not responsible to the behaviour of individuals. Do you think it might be worth it?

Surely you complained during the interval? At least you'd have given the theatre the opportunity to move you for the 2nd half - bit late now (& no evidence you really did have a rotten pair in front of you).

I think we are too polite and tolerant sometimes, that's you with over 80 quid down the drain. Personally, I did the 'kick the back of their seat' thing at a show once, every single time the dozy pair of females in front of us started whispering I did a Sharon Stone (well, not quite as I was wearing my knickers). Worked quite well but booze wasn't involved.

You should have asked the theatre to deal with it at the time IMO. Shame it ruined your evening.

Yep, you are quite right, we should have kicked up about it (or kicked them!) but being typical non-complaining Brits we didn't.

Wish I was a bit more willing to face confrontation!

A short letter of complaint won't take much. Nothing ventured nothing gained!

I am going to write to the theatre, not because I'm expecting any recompense but because if nobody ever tells them how their policies affect them they can't be expected to do anything about it.

No point in coming on here and moaning and saying nothing to the people at fault!

I don't think it's that, as the interval ad implied that that is what you are invited to do. It's a terrible policy though, and a cynical way of increasing profit at the expense of the comfort of those of us who would rather just watch the show and not sit in a bar with incidental entertainment.

Hmmm, I wonder what the problem was then - maybe it was because they didn't buy it there. I can't say I blame them, as I paid £4.50 for a small bottle of wine (the size they sell in supermarkets for about £1.50). Next time I will definitely take my own

Maybe the problem was the glasses? Only plastic ones allowed inside the auditorium.

I think behaviour at the cinema is getting worse too. People chatting loudly all the way through the film is very rude.
