Sowed some chickpeas by accident!

Hi greenfingered chums

I was rinsing off some soaked chickpeas and some fell into a pot with geranium on my kitchen windowsill. I decided to leave them there as an experiment and one has started sprouting in the compost. I'm just wondering if I could actually grow chickepea plants now ... has anyone tried this?
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

    yes,
    they grow quite well.
The yield is very poor though.
    worth trying just for fun.

You have a great username, gave me a smile! :D I guess I'll still have to shop for chickpeas but like you say, I think this could be fun!
