Terminal A, Flight cancelation

Hi. Help from anyone? Had flight booked to Iceland with Icelandair, electronic ticket issued by airline but flight cancelled because of Ash.etc. Booked months ago through "Terminal A" web site. Have been trying to get a refund. "Terminal A" although still trading, says they have filed for insolvency so airlines have pulled the plug on them getting access to the Airlines database for requesting refunds??. these are based in Spain. So trying to get my money back from Icelandair but they keep refering me back to the point of sale i.e. "Terminal A".. I just want my money back for a flight that didn't go and cant see what the problem is! Thanks.:(

If you paid by credit card, contact your card company for a chargeback under Consumer Credit Act 1975 - goods or services bought on credit have not been delivered.

Your tickets weren't cancelled because of the ash cloud, they were cancelled because TerminalA are insolvent ;)

    Don't know if that's possible?

Sorry to hear about your problem with Terminal A and also to hear that they are kaput. I booked a few flights with them (already taken) in December and was pleased with the price and their service. Even the cashback came through quickly.
  • BEWARE! Terminal A are like a rash all over the internet ..... complaints in review forums everywhere.

I booked two flights through Terminal A last year. After a few weeks I received a mail from TA about one of them saying "your flight time has been changed - please confirm acceptance." I couldn't accept the revised time since I would have missed a connection, so I wrote and asked for a revised flight. TA told me they couldn't re-book the flight .... so I dealt direct with the airline with no problems. TA customer service score so far = -1.

However - worse to come. Several weeks later I received a further mail from TA telling me that my second flight had been cancelled - no other information. I wrote asking why, and what arrangements TA were making to re-book the flight, and was told they couldn't deal with it and that I should contact the airline. I contacted the airline, who confirmed they no longer flew to that destination and advised that a refund would be made by the agent with whom I booked the flight. TA refused to corrrespond on the matter, simply referring me back to the airline. Eventually, they sent an email claiming that they were now insolvent and that the airlines had 'blocked access to the database'. Nevertheless, they are still trading.

I think it most likely that Terminal A is a small hole-in-the-wall operation .... by far the majority of their transactions go well .... ticket booked, flight operates, happy customer (hence the counter-posts you will see saying "Well, I've used 'em, and they're fine".) BUT, when things go wrong they don't have the staff, or can't be bothered, to fulfil their obligations as agents ..... and eventually hide behind the claimed insolvency excuse.

Take a look around the net (google terminala scam, or terminala review, or terminala complaint) ..... Terminal A have been claiming to be insolvent (when things go wrong) for at least two years!!

My money-saving tip? Use ebookers or whichever online search you fancy to find the flight you want ....... then book it direct with the airline! :)
  • Incidentally, re: TA's 'insolvency' - since writing to them asking for details of their Insolvency Administrator so that I can register as a creditor ............... they've stopped replying to me altogether.

    Surprised?

Looks like I must have been lucky with my bookings with them then.
  • i spent hundreds of poounds on 5 flights with them & then all my tickets were cancelled due to Terminal A going into Insolvency. I had numerous email exchanges with them & called them, but all they did was refer me to the airlines - ridiculous! in the end i charged back all the money through my credit card at which point they called me & threatened the company lawyers if I did not pay them for the "flights" i had "booked" with them. I had no flights as the airlines had confirmed to me that my tickets had not been issued because Terminal A had never passed on my payment to the verious airlines.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE RIP OFF MERCHANTS!! BE WARNED
