I have a K Glass window where the metal coating has suddenly become streaked and lined. There is no obvious moisture in the window.

Has anyone else seen this effect?

They are 20 year old Everest Units, although I have some 25 year old units that are fine.

We've seen this - unfortunately if they're 20 years old they won't be under guarantee anymore.

I would suggest:
a) Refurb quote
b) Replacing the unit (may be more cost effective)

Wouldn't use Everest as they will be twice as expensive, go for a local firm near you.

I agree - if its just the glass unit it will be cheap as chips for a local firm to replace.. I changed one myself at my house recently (small top opener approx 18 inches by 10 inches and the unit was less than £15) If you can't change it yourself expect to pay £35ish for someone to fit it for you (any size)
