Help for a newbie gardener

I have decided to put some hanging baskets up and have bought some compost. Now I need help what do I plant? Should I use seeds or repot some plants? I do not have green fingers so plants tend to die on me,

Experiment with both and learn as you go along - I have both seeds and plug plants on the go at present but my favourites are the plants that you can collect seeds from for next year and that are a guaranteed success. Some are not at all fussy while others can be hard to crack at times.
