Seat Altea iPhone/iPod Connectivity
Just bought a 2004 Seat Altea 2.0 TDI Sport and want to connect my iPhone to the OEM Seat radio so I can play music through the iPod and also charge the iPhone as well if possible.
I don't like the idea of the FM transmitter type devices or the Parrot bluetooth thingymabobs, prefer to plug it into a cable as that is what I am used to with my previous car (also wireless connectivity is always a bit hit and miss in my experience).
I've read that Seat recommend the Dension car kits, but can't seem to find anyone that has actually bought one and installed it in an Altea who can advise how well they work?
Anyone got any advice/experience?

No one?
Tbh this is the response I've been getting pretty much everywhere - it seems not many Seat Altea owners have ipods/iphones :huh:1wheel > 2wheels > 4wheels0 -
Have you tried a specific Seat Forum?
Does the radio have standard VAG connections? If so a VW forum might help?0 -

Yeah tried a Seat forum - thats where the info on the Dension car kits came from. There is still confusion over which model of the car kit works with which version of the radio which works with which version of the ipod/iphone. The whole thing is a minefield!
Will try my local Seat dealer over the weekend - see if they can shed any light on it - but experience says that they don't know much about it either...1wheel > 2wheels > 4wheels0 -
Depending if you just want to play music from your iphone, or want to have a handsfree kit with full control of your music.
Just to play music, you could get an ipod/iphone adaptor which would plug into the quadlok on the back of your radio and into your iphone, which you could get from halfords.
But the best way, but more costly, is to get a bury 9060 music car kit & use an elan lead part no. epk-050 which plugs into the back of your radio.
This kit has a lead that plugs into the ipod/iphone & the touch screen of the kit takes over & you have full control of the ipod/phone using the screen.
check ebay for car kit & mobilefun.co.uk or just do a search for them.
To get your radio out check out seat radio on you tube, someone shows you how to do it.0
