Forgot to ask, I have been to three Solicitor's office for quotes, the big firms have conveyancers and there is a small firm with only the solicitor and an assistant, and I think I will be dealing with the solicitor whereas the other two big firms will be the conveyancers. There is a difference of about £100 in the quotes, which one should I book to deal with. Also one of them said as soon as my offer is accepted and I book a building survey, I should give instruct them to act. I would rather wait till the survey comes back and then instruct the solicitor. Please in what order do you do these things. Thanks0

What you should offer really depends on the local market For example in the centre of Cambridge where I am right now, every house goes for above the asking price within a few of days and you would be wasting your time to offer less. A couple of miles further out, houses are on the market for over a month and it would would make sense to put the first offer below.0
