Does this mean the floors will need replacing? Just viewed a house yesterday and the upstairs floor were all creaky. Thanks

No not at all.
Floors creak for many reasons, but the two most common reasons are:
1. They have come loose, and just need screwing down - be careful of water pipes, wiring, etc. when doing this.
2. They are rubbing against one another, most common with tounge & groove flooring.
I've heard of people who swear by covering the upstairs flooring with hardboard in order to eliminate creaky floors. Not sure how effective this is though as I've never done it.0 -

We have covered some of our floors in hardboard and it doesn't stop the floor creaking. We have chipboard floors if that makes any difference.0 -
It can be the boards rubbing on the nails or just loose boards cos some lazy b@stard plumber could be bothered fixing them back down, either way screwing them down is the best bet and avoiding cables and pipes is allso a fairly good idea too

Or you could have a fat wife that 'stomps' around. I only had one squeaky board before she came to live here.Light blue touchpaper and stand well back !0
