no i meant because 3pm is the latest they do, would have a gap in food if they attended register then buffet they would be starving!
I think 21 ( 3 kids) to registry office. Then 50/60 to reception? My sister just said I should get married in town, then all go back to my step mums for some canapes and champagne ( she is a chef btw ) I would just give her the money to cover expenses, obviously my mum and her new husband wouldnt attend this bit but hopefully wouldnt mind as they could come to the evening reception and the wedding ceremony. Then all go onto reception at 7ish?
what other things to I need to be thinking about so far
- registry office £110.50
- Buffet/ venue hire for recpetion £500 ?
-rings
-dress
- photos ( my dad has a really good camera, would i regret this? )
- dj/music
cars.. I dont need a fancy one
flowers.. just something small
cake .. my step mum ( the chef) can make beautiful cakes0 -
As MYPIE suggested the holiday inn is a great package- there have been a few threads on here about it- basically you get married there and everything is really done for you. Saves the cars as well- there have been some gd reports plus there are afew holiday Inns near you.
Here is a thread on weddings under £1000 to give you some ideas.
Now you know the price of the cermony prob best to decide how much you can afford to pay ,decided on date for budgetting ,and work round that.0 -

my brother did this for his wedding last year and it was lovely, nice and relaxed
I'm getting married at 3:30 and not having food till the evening, i figure that people will have had lunch before they come and wont be hungry till towards the evening, (eve do starts at 6:30, food around 7?)0 -
I think you will regret not having a proper photographer because it would be lovely to have some great pics - its not whether or not someone has a fancy camera its whether or not they take great pics.
Wait until September or March as that is when the bridal shops have their sales and sell off their sample dresses, also look in charity shops and on sites such as pre-loved.
I would wait for another 12 months as that will give you sometime to save and you will have more of an idea of what you can and can't afford and what you can make yourself.0 -
Hi - well explore all options. We got married in a museum and they did weddings at 1.15pm and 5.15pm, maybe some registry offices might do later weddings as it does work out more to get married in a different venue as you pay the registrar to come to you. You may find you can get a free room for the meal/reception in a pub or restaurant. Look at drink options too. Sample sales are good for dresses. That monsoon dress is beautiful though. You need to think what do I really need and eliminate all the other 'wedding' things that they make you think you need !!! Good luck I hope you have your wedding soon.We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T0
