Will he be able to accept this cheque?

I sent a cheque to a friend but just realised I forgot to put his full name on it. What I mean is his full name is "John Smith" but I've just put "Mr Smith" on the cheque. Will his bank allow him to deposit it or will I have to send him another cheque with John Smith written on it in full?
