Frightened of flying? Virgin, flying without fear
Comments

My other half did this at Heathrow last year. She used to have to take lots of valium and get drunk to even enter an aeroplane.
We went to Croatia 2 weeks after the course and she had no issues with the flight. She said she still did not like flying but she was not scared anymore.
I have also noticed that she has lost her fear of spiders as a side effect. She used to go running and screaming out of the room. Now she just calmly asks me to get it out.
We have actually booked our honeymmon to Mexico this year as she feels she can handle the longer flight. Next year we will go and visit my sister in Australia which was not possible till now.
I had my doubts but this course is the best money we have spent.
So I agree, well done Virgin.
for those who do not have a spare £200 and have iphones there is an app that explains the different noises heard on a plane.

not scared of flying personally but as for travelling to mexico in my experience when going long haul it is a different experience, the planes are larger than most stuff used for europe flights and do not tend to bump around as much in turbulence.although i actually quite like it bumpy except when overnight flight and want to get some kip.0 -

A recent flight from Tokyo to LA completely destroys your comment.
The plane was a 777 and was thrown about like nothing i have never known. The whole plane was locked down and people were screaming and praying as it dropped hundreds of feet and then levelled then tipped down at the back, was thrown side to side. It was nothing short of horrendous. It was like being on a roller-coaster and i am not joking.
When it finally calmed down the Captain explained we had hit the tail end of a Tropical Storm leaving Japan and that had it gone on much longer he would have diverted.
For anyone reading this and getting a little unnerved - I have flown hundreds of times and only twice have i ever had a plane have really bad turbulence, that was once. The other was in a 737 - I used to commute between England and Northern Ireland 4 times weekly and one day the plane just suddenly fell from the sky, just dropped straight down then levelled out pretty hard and went mad for a few minutes.
However, it is my understanding that most people afraid of flying are scared of turbulence, let me tell you now, after going through what i just described (Tokyo - LA) if that won't bring a plane down i'm not sure what would. The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
