Time Scale ....

I have just received my letter saying that they have received my first claim and now we wait....

I was just curious to how long people have waited for the decision..

I wonder what the record is for the shortest and the longest time for an award ....starting from the point of confirmation of application...

I bet there are some interesting time scales out there ?

It's normally 11-13 weeks. Longer if they need more information.

    Hi,

My husband's claim was exactly four weeks to the day from them getting the form to us receiving a payment into our bank account which included back pay from the date stamp on the form.

So it can be very quick.

My sons DLA took 22 days to be awarded. I did enclose recent letters from his consultant & his Occupational Therapist.

Mine on the other hand took 14 weeks.

Thats an interesting comment - i was going to ask this on another thread but you may have hepled me here. The claim i have in is actually for my 17 year old daughter.

We have the same genetic condition - i actually gave it to her (guilt every day!) so i was wondering if i should claim DLA too - we have the identical condition and it affects us the same way. (also my youngest daughter has it too - double guilt)

My poor husband has to deal with all three of us poorly sometimes - i have already been in A&E tonight with my eldest having to have IV human plasma...

So i presume there isnt a problem with two people from the same address claiming ?

This is irrelevant. The DWP don't care how many from a household claim DLA. My brother & myself claim it with no issues. (we have different conditions)

No there isn't, me and my daughter both have di george syndrome and claim from the same address, I gave it to her as well.
I have also been seen tonight, with a really fast heartrate, now housebound till they can get it down again. As i have lung disease as well.
    Pm me if you want.

Thank you for that - i think i will get a claim in for myself. I wanted my daughters claim to go in first as she is the priority - so now i think i will get my looked into - luckily i am at the Radcliffe hospital today seeing my specialist - so i will mention it to her today.

Mind you it took me and my daughter nearly a week to fill in the form and do all the research to include with the paperwork - good job i saved the document on the PC - might make it a bit easier.
