Thanks - I love Mary Portas - she works wonders on charity shops and I wish more shops were like those that she has transformed as they would be much more pleasant places to shop.
  • Most charity shops were doing most of what she says a decade ago anyway, it's hardly rocket science, just copy what John Lewis do instead of running the place like a jumble stall.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

    Thank you fengirl.

I really enjoyed the last series. I would also love to visit a Charity shop like the one she transformed. I would also love to donate my clothes to a charity shop like that too.

Sooo tired of second hand primark clothes I don't even bother to go in anymore.

I watched it, interesting - noticed an former colleague on there! Agree with Owain, a lot of things are already being done (and were for some time) by a number of charity shops.

I know a number of charity shop managers who might be a little put out at being portrayed as well meaing but ultimately silly amateurs, when they could probably show Mary a thing or two.

New Year's Resolution: Post less unnecessary posts. (and that was 2007)

yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.

I thought it was good and have been in the new shop that they have opened but I cant say its any different than any other charity shops and is nothing like the one that was on the programme. On a positive note I have volunteered to work in it (although havent heard back from them yet - have posted a thread to find out if anyone knows how long it takes.)
