Hi
Don't know if you can help.
My daughter is 17 and 3 months pregnant.
She lives with her partner who works, she was working but has give up her job....
They live together and at the moment she has no income at all, just his wages.
Is she entitled to any help, as she left her job i am not sure if she will get anything.
Somebody told me she can get help but i am not sure.
Where does she go, the job centre???
Sorry, we have never claimed anything so we do not know the ins and outs of this.
Thanks

Why did she give up her job?0

Depends on a few things, why did she give up her job? (only asking as if she's ill may be able to claim ESA, but if it's just because she didn't want to work any more I doubt she'll get anything) Her partner may be eligible for working tax credit but would depend on what he earns. They will be able to get child benefit and child tax credit once the baby is born. He could apply for LHA and council tax benefit and see if they are eligible for that. Have to say though she will be treated just the same as anyone else who has volantarily given up work, just because your pregnant doesn't mean you can't still earn a living until a few weeks before you have the baby...0
