Experiences with Egg account after finishing an IVA

Hello all,
Writing on behalf of my partner who hasn't got an MSE account.
He started his IVA in Feb 2004. Paid a final settlement Feb 2008 a year early. Takes 6 years to come of his account. So now finally free of the IVA label.
Today he managed to log into his egg acount which was still live?? On there it says he owes £2500. Both Experian and Equifax has nothing owing on his credit history to Egg. A bit worrying that the account is live with this balance though ??
Has any one else experienced this with Egg or any other companies?
If so what did you do about it?
