Unfortunately my husband and I have separated this week. I think I have been fairly pro-active but wanted to check with people who might know better!
We have two sons who will live with me and we privately rent our property.
I have applied for Housing Benefit and Child Tax Credit and informed Tax Credits. I don't work at the moment as my husband was working, one of my sons is disabled and i get Carers Allowance for him. I have also applied for Income Support but have no idea how much to expect.
My big problem is that we have over £30,000 worth of debt, but I have contacted Citizens Advice and have a budget form to fill in and then have to make an appointment to go back and see them.
Any ideas or anything else I need to do?

I know that. I've got an appointment with Citizens Advice and going to sort those out and work out easier repayment plans. We got ourselves into this mess and I know I can't run away from them!0
