I recently sowed 1 Courgette seed,1 Cucmber seed and 1 French bean seed in one large plant pot,but each seed was planted inside its own personal toilet roll, all 3 seeds have germinated and are growing well,
But,yesterday morning i got up to a tiny perfectly formed mushroom in with the cucmber seedling, then today there were about 5 amongst the other loo rolls too...anyone any idea why,?what?,etc...the big plant pot is indoors on my window sill, will i have to discard these seedlings now?

What compost did you plant the seeds in?British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0

Was it home-made compost? Can't you just uproot the mushrooms and leave the seedlings to it? That's what I'd be tempted to do.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
are you sure they are mushrooms...i ask this because when my courgette seedlings started coming through i could have sworn there werre mushrooms growing long side them, but rather bizzarely they turned into courgette seedlings just like their brothers and sisters!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

The compost wasnt homemade it was A J.Bowers.(I opened a growbag),definately tiny mushrooms, ive taken photos,I will see if i can post them tomorrow...I did an internet search, apparantly its not uncommon to get tiny mushrooms/fungi when growing in toilet roll tubes and newspaper plantpots(dont know why tho)....must admit none of my other seedlings have been affected, only the ones in loo rolls.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

Hey I noticed this on my sunflower which was in a toilet roll inner! The toilet roll was in a small pot (just to stop it falling over). There was some compost between the roll and the pot and when i had a look the other day, two teeny but as you say perfectly formed mushrooms were growing there!!! They were a bit squished though! Anyway I just picked them off and it was time to plant them outside anyway. Doesn't seem to have done it any harm, but very strange! My DH's sunflower didn't have any on. I was using wilko's seed and potting compost I think. Think probably its just a sign of being a bit over moist - maybe let them dry a bit more between waterings? At least mushrooms you can pick off, mould is a bit more difficult to get rid of. I don't reckon it will kill the seedlings or anything.0

are you overwatering and creating a lovely warm humid environment for fungus? (ie mushrooms)0

I have exactly this problem too. What concerns me is that I started all of my seedlings off in this compost(B&Q) and I just hope they aren't poisenous mushrooms.
By the way I didn't use toilet roll holders so I don't think thats the cause.0 -
:rotfl: This happened to me last year, of course I had used spent mushroom potting compost from a charity supplier. I thought the wee mushies looked sweet growing on the sides of the loo roll innards:D Never did any harm to the sweet pea seeds I had planted in them. In the loo roll innards not the mushies!!!
Note to self...........get DD or DS to check grammar and punctuation so sentences posted will make sense:eek::o"To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill" Sun Tzu0 -
We had a similar thing on ours - doesn't seem to have done the seedlings any harm, unlike whatever it was that munched all our peas! Grr!Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
