Home Insurance again

I've never claimed on my home insurance, ever. However, I think the time has come to do so but not sure if I would be covered.
Today I took the kids out and whilst sitting watching them, I must have forgotten to pick my camera bag up. Inside is not only my DSLR, but a couple of spare lenses, spare battery and a couple of memory cards. Obviously the total is worth a fair bit to me and I'm GUTTED. The only saving grace is I recently backed up all my photos and had only taken two today.
Now the question....I have cover away from home but would my home insurance cover me since in effect I lost it? Or would they claim I was being negligent and therefore kick it out?
I'm gutted, the items combined were worth a fair bit. To make matters worse, I'm off to a wedding at the weekend!

Did you go back? Report it or see if it has been handed in to the relevant authorities?
I don't think anyone can answer your questions except your insurers.0 -
You need to report the loss to the Police and obtain a reference number to enable you to claim0
