hi bockster,
is a concealed sliding door one that 'disappears' into the wall..?0 -
thats right, or 'pocket doors' i've found they're refered to as well.
i was thinking along the lines of a nice frosted glass door, but a quick look revealed prices of £800 and upwards:eek:Please note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0 -
Won't this require removal of not only one side of the door frame, but the uprights in the wall where the pocket will go, uprights which previously supported the wall and whatever is above it....?0

the wall is a none load bearing paramount board wall.
however what i will probably do is build a false wall (pocket) against the existing wall hence ending up with a thicker wall (on the bedroom side where i can afford to loose a little space). or simply rebuild the complete wall as a proper stud wall + pocketPlease note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0 -
Bockster - funny you should ask this as we are planning exactly the same. Just waiting for our builder to come back to us with costings once we've figured out exactly what we want in the bathroom. It looks easily doable and we already have a surface mounted sliding door against a stud wall but this will make it neater and give us space on the wall the door currently slides against. There are a couple of kits out there and range from around £100 to £800 depending on what you want just google pocket door. Good luck.0
