My stepdad has had several wedding rings.. 1 he welded to his finger! another he caught on the pin for the arm on the window closure thing and ripped ALL the skin off his finger.. so it was just bone!! That was nasty! another he was changing a battery in the car and the ring made the connection between the llive bits and melted the metal and stuck the 3 fingers together with melted gold.. and he got another one!!

Can he not turn it round and et something under it to straighten it back out so he can get it off and reshaped at least? Screwdrivers are always good for this! .... and I'm not telling you how I know lol

His finger has swelled up and gone a funny colour...I've already had to use pliers to reshape it and stop it digging in but its got worse.

    Ouccchhhhhhhhh re your stepdad's fingers.

Good luck Soappie, 'You're going to get the job' vibes heading your way. :D

Natty, hope you feel better hun, sorry you've had a rough day. xxxx

Thanks RosieBen, Piggers, Kazwookie, Dusty et al for all the ideas re: DS's bday.
I have put all his presents in a basket, in view but not in his face so he can make up his own mind. Have reassured him he can be 2 forever and DD1 has made him a '2' card! I have an 'unbirthday' cake for tea which can be transformed with candles if necessary. We'll see what tomorrow brings! He's generally such a cheerful little chap (see my Facebook pic!)....

Anyway. Kitchen relatively clean and tidy, dining room slightly less so. I'm off to bed.

Hugs to all who need/want and here's hoping Penpen will be back amongst us soon.

I'm pleased to see you're not online now...

I'm still working, but have an early call... so I should stop, but I'm kind of on a roll now so it's tempting to carry on!

One paper completed, one presentation draft finished and sent to a colleague to inspect, and one review ongoing (although I'm not sure where review ends and writing it for them starts in this case...!)

Suppose I could make a start on my next paper

Well I've just drawn up a whole lot of processes, but as I have to be coherent in the morning I suppose I should head off and try to sleep! It might be easier to work through, but it is getting a little chilly now! Better go and make hot water bottles....

oh... and my bed is covered in clothes that need putting away :(

    last on and first on!

Two and half hours sleep is NOT enough... definitely not :o

I'm going to empty the DW, get washed and dressed, and then see how I feel about breakfast. I have a client call at 8am, and the electrician is coming at 9am so I need to find the bits he needs to sort out the shed before he gets here... plus locate my brain.

Looks like it'll be a lovely sunny day :D
