I`ve had a small pot on a windowsill for a few weeks now, sadly they are past their best but the perfume drifted around the whole of the downstairs :D

Beautiful! I envy you your lovely pot :D

Your pot looks lovely. Hyacinths really do perfume the house, so much nicer than artificial room fresheners. I've got a couple of those glass hyacinth vases.....only from Wilko's or somewhere like that, very cheap, and every autumn, I grow a couple in those. They take so little effort, just fill with water & sit bulb in the round bit at the top with roots just touching the water & stick them in a dark cupboard. The roots soon go shooting down into the vase. When the shoots appear, vases can be brought out into warm room. 'Prepared' bulbs are supposed to flower for Christmas.....I've never managed to have one in flower for Christmas Day, but by New Year, they're usually in flower & scent the whole room beautifully.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!
