Hi! First post so sorry! Anyway I am looking for a 5 door coupe/Hatchback, has to be a diesel, cos I forever stall petrols..(us women drivers ey..) with the most MPG and cheapest to tax and insure... Its to get me to work and back with is a 40mile round trip on country roads.. (Which is why I can't get the bus cos theres only a couple a day...) I've seen so many 3 door cars which would be perfect but I give lifts to 2 other people who are a tad older and can't manage the climb into the back seat no more... Yet again I have enough trouble! So if anyone has any ideas of a good one please let us know! Thankyou very much!!:T

Stalling the engine has nothing to do with petrol or diesel - you can stall a diesel too if you don't know how to use a clutch properly. Have you considered an automatic?
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

    Is'nt a 5 door coupe an oxymoron?

We really need more info, budget etc.

BMW 320d with ed would be my choice. But as clutches seem to be a problem not sure you would benefit from the "ultimate driving machine"

The only "5 door coupes" that I can think of at the moment are the:

    Mercedes CLS
    Audi A5
    VW Passat CC

By 5 door coupe do you actually mean a 5 door hatchback?

Hatchback is the word! And I find clutch control easier on a diesel than a petrol, its one of them things.. other people prefer petrols.. but your probably right about the stalling.. Well mainly looking for a used car up to 5k which I know isnt a lot but I only work part time, hence the need for cheap running costs... I'm not looking for a brand new car cos they lose a lot of money in the first year I find it pointless... I did see a really nice Kia Cerato 1.5 CRDi LX 5dr... 57mpg... which is realy good but the insurance is really high, and I checked parkers and it had some pretty bad reviews... safety is a big thing too... Thankyou every one so far!!

If you keep stalling then you should just practice pulling away more.
Give it more revs and slip the clutch a bit.
Then learn to give it slightly less revs and slip the clutch less.
    Happy chappy

Rover used to make a four door coupe, but they weren't particularly cheap to run. Mind you, you would save on the road tax. Most were autos too.
