Change of account name

Hi all,
Currently have a rolling contract with BT and am switching to Post Office tomorrow, currently the BT account is in my name and we want the new Post Office account to be in the wife's name.
Question is will this cause any problems/issues with BT or do I need to tell them in advance?
Worried they may just cook up some charge for leaving and changing the name of the person who is switching.
Thanks.

Just do it. No doubt you will suffer grief along the line, telecomms is like that. But you would get the same grief if you kept it all in the same name.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. What has the name in which you have an account with one company got to do with any other company?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Don't quote me on this, but I was under the impression if you both had the same surname there would be no issues. I dunno if that is true I have just seen examples in the past where Openreach have rejected orders and the only possible explanation is that the surnames were different.0
