Worcester boiler with megaflo

Hi all

After some help please. We have a worcester 440 CDI and a megaflo. If the heating is off the hot water is only getting luke warm. If heating on the hot water is piping hot.

Any suggestions on what could be the problem, any help much appreciated.

The 440 is a Greenstar HE combi isn't it? Unless you actually have a 40CDi?

In this case if the heating side and megaflow should have been plumbed in as a 'Y' or 'S' plan to the boiler.

If this has not happened and the megaflo has been just teed into the heating circuit, which technically and legally it should'nt, when you turn the heatinf off the boiler will just act as the combi it is for hot water.

More detail on your system is needed for an accurate and constructive reply.

    hi gas4you

it is a 40cdi - not the 440 like in my original post. we have had it for over 2 years and this problem has only just started occuring over the last week.

Sounds like the dhw valve actuator switch in the head has broken. I assume it is the standard silver Honeywell as supplied with Megaflo's.

Replace the valve head and all should be well.

Technically and with a jobs worth hat on, as this valve is classed as a safety device for the megaflo, it should only be replaced by a G3 registered unvented installer.

But reality is it is a simple valve head change with 5 wires to connect.

If were to do this job I think it would be about £95 + VAT
