DVD recorder not working

I have a Accoustic Solution DVD recorder bought from Argos in July 2008.
It has worked fine but now when I turn the recorder on from the back button, it beeps twice, lights comes on and then disconnects.
Any idea what are my rights? I know the guarantee is only one year but has expired.
Thanks
MS

How much did it cost? I'm amazed it even lasted two years. Everything my parents bought branded "acoustic solutions" was cheap, nasty, and worked for about a week.0 -
So you've had a DVD player for nearly 2 years and it's gone wrong?
I think you've earned the right to throw it in the bin and buy another one.
Alternatively explain your problem on the Techie Forum. One of the experts there might be able to come up with a solution that'll cost you nowt.0 -
It sounds like the warp capsitor has atomised, Scotty.0
