Automatic start petrol lawn mower recommendations please

My DH has finally accepted that I'm not fibbing when I say that I can't start our petrol lawn mower and has agreed to buy a new mower with an automatic start button :j Can anyone please recommend me a model to get? Our garden is smallish (but a fair distance from the house so that's why we don't use an electric one) and our budget is max £250.

Get your husband to mow the lawn with the one you currently have! This is MSE you know. ;):D

I doubt that you will find an electric start mower for £250. For £350 you should be able to find something.
Does your current mower use a priming bulb, when starting from cold (I'm assuming it is OK to start, once hot). If so, you should find a mower that uses a choke, considerably easier to start. I use one of these (they are slightly different to my three year old model), just £120 from Focus and it is very easy to start.

We have a Mountfield motor mower with both a recoil string pull and an ignition key and most of the time I still can't get the bl**dy thing started. I'm quite happy to mow our lawns but have to get OH to start the mower for me. Having damaged my shoulder so much on one occasion that I needed surgery after trying to get the mower started, I sympathise. That pull chord invention has probably caused more expletives from gardeners than any othe piece of equipment!
