Wilco sells citric acid but only in small amounts- it's used for wine making- so probably a food grade - 50g for over £1
Online it looks like they have their own brand- 250g for £1.75

One of the manufacturers is Dripak- they have a 250g pack which retails around £1.40/ £1.50- cheapest. The cheapest stockist here is Yorkshire Trading. If you have a wine making specialist locally that's the place to look first.

We have dire limescale here- very very hard water.
The citric acid cleared the loo but I did put on a rubber glove and wipe against the brown patches. All gone

the kettle had white all around the lid so I mixed up a very strong c.a. solution- hardly any water, and painted it on. Limescale gone (for a week, or maybe 2!)
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

We have a very small Wilko locally but I'll look on their website first and maybe order it that way. I know they do a 'collect in store' service:j. I think there might be a wine-making shop somewhere in the town so I'll definitely seek it out next time I'm there to check prices. Also, there's a Yorkshire Trading in the town where my sister lives. I'll ask her to have a look.

    Lots of options. Thanks again:beer:

I should have said that the repair guy who came to fix my fridge freezer, told me to always use a teaspoon of citric acid in the small compartment next to the detergent compartment every time I use the dishwasher, as the limescale here is particularly bad. I hadn't even noticed that there was another compartment, much to my shame. He also said to use vinegar in the washing machine, but I'd been doing that for years anyway.

Limescale where I live is horrendous.
You have given me something else to be grateful for: since I moved out of London, I've not been troubled by limescale to the same extent as before. It really is hard work.

Start off with one tablespoon. If it doesn't do the job, you can always add another.

It surely is hard work, particularly as I had never had to deal with it before moving abroad. However, I do get the benefit of being able to see the Med from my house, so it's not all bad. :D

Another vote for rough towels - I love the exfoliating feel and the 'after-glow' - oooeeerrrr missus!
Everything will be alright in the end - and if it's not alright, it's not the end ........

Have you tried Oatly in the grey bottle? I've tried every type of non dairy milk in tea as I have a problem with dairy and Oatly is almost perfect

If you have a smoothie maker or blender, you can make your own oat milk for pennies & it has a much better consistency than the shop-bought stuff!

Just rinse a cup of oats, put in a blender with 500mls of water, blend for a minute & sieve a few times to remove all the bits.
