Hi,
Seems strange I know, but I am new to EBAY....!!
I have spent a lot of time on Ebay and this forum (thanks), I have been on Ebay since Feb 06 and only have a feedback of 6, this feedback is from buying small tangible items.
I have loads of items to sell, some will make good money (£50+)
So, how high does my feedback rating need to be before i am seen as a credible seller?
Any advice, I want to sell, but dont want my stuff to go for a low price.

From EBays perspective you need 10+ to get the use of all the facilities. But what you want to do is sell items of little importance first and build up to your more valuable items.
Its all about perceived trust. Start with a £500 laptop and you will struggle build up slowly. Personally I would suggest you start buying some more things first, such as consumables or packing materials etc.0 -
Thank you, do you think i need 50 feedback before i should sell higher value items? this way the buyer gets all the paypal protection stuff, i dont really understand that:beer:0

No not really; but you will at some stage have to get some sales up with good feedback in return. Build it up slowly and you will be fine. 50 feedbacks might take you an age

The paypal protection stuff will certainly be an advantage... that is, if your buyers are canny enough to check for it.
Essentially it means that if something goes hideously wrong with the transaction, the buyer will get their money back. So your buyers will feel safer buying from someone with paypal protection. (I have it... don't know how much of a difference it makes.)My TV is broken!

From looking on Ebay I think i need to be into 20/30+ feedback before I start selling items of higher value.....:beer:0

Yeh I would say something like that! But like someone else said, definately sell a few little things first!

What buyers want to see is:-
"Quick despatch; item as described, great ebayer, 5*****"
A few of those and you will be up and running0 -
I think it is important to have paypal protection of at least £120 allowing your customers to bid with a little more confidence and once you have the PP protection you can offer your buyers £500 protection. Which i believe enables you to sell your product for more.

I have 70 feedback and £500 protection... do you know under what circumstances you only have £120?My TV is broken!

you can actually sell when you want even ay '0' rated
you just need to register a valid credit/debit card
as above though you would be better selling your lower value items first to build oyur feedback up as this gives confidence to your buyers
if i buy off a low rated ebayer i tend to look how long they have also been registered if ita couple of months i will tend to stay clear but if its quite a while then they are probably not an addict like most of us and just sell when they no longer have use for stuffneed to have a lightbulb moment0
