Hello, whenever I apply eye liner to the top of my eyes by the lash line, it keeps transferring to the top of my eye socket. How can I prevent this? Does this happen to anyone else?

Do you use a primer first? That might help.0

No, I keep hearing about primers, I don't have one. What do primers do? And any you recommend?0

They help keep the eyeshadow on for longer without creases or smudges etc. I'm currently trying to find one myself, I've just read "Hands down the very best eyeshadow primer is Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This stuff is awesome. No eyeshadow creases all day long!"
I'm personally gonna give Urban Decay or MAC a go.0 -
Thank you, will get one of them

Hi There,
Can I jump on and ask, is the urban decay just for eye shadow and do you need a different one for under your foundation?
TIA

Yeah it's just for the eyes, I checked and they have a lip primer too but no face primer. It's better to purchase a different one for under your foundation anyway, as they are designed to cater to different parts of your skin. Before you buy one I suggest looking at reviews online, they definitely help me.0

what kind of eyeliner do you use? Pencil or liquid? I use liquid eyeliner and if I want it to look kohl like I smudge shadow over it. To 'lock in' kohl pencil you could use shadow over it which should prevent it transferring onto your eyelid. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

I used a mac eyeliner in a pot, but i also used liquid and it did the same thing?0

Your lids may be greasy which might cause the transfer. If you use eye cream it should just be round the occipital (sp?) bone rather than on the lid. Powder e.g. translucent or mineral foundation might work to remedy this.
I have a similar problem with mascara transferring onto the skin under my eyes but don't like to wear too much powder under my eyes as it makes them look wrinkly! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
Vikki, it sounds like your applying too much- try first of all, one eye at a time, dabbing on a little sort of inbetween the lashes to fill them out. Do one eye at a time and allow a few seconds to dry if you feel they are slightly heavy.
Next paint over a line to cover the dots you had previously applied, but make sure the brush is quite fine and there is not too much liner on the brush by wiping each side of the brush on the side of your pot. One or two strokes of the brush on your lash line at the most, anymore and your either attempting the Amy Winehouse look (in which case your very likely to get a double line on your eye lids inf you open them at all) or your applying too much. With Mac a little really does go a long way.
Mac are great with giving instructions on using their products so if you are near a Mac store or concession, do go in and ask and they will give you a hands on demo.0
