Returning faulty item (brand new) after 28 days...

Hi,
I bought a top mid-March... haven't even taken it out of the bag until now, and I've noticed a hole in it. It still has the tags on.
Just wondering if they're likely to give me a refund when it has gone over the 28 days that they allow for returns/exchanges? Do the 28 days apply if the item is faulty? The shop is New Look if that helps.
Thanks.

Any time I have returned something to New Look they haven't even looked at the date on the receipt!! Obviously I can't say whether that will be the same in your branch but I have never had a problem!! I'm sure someone will comment soon with legal timescales etc but I can't see it being a problem especially if they can tell it's unworn and faulty!!0

Hi. This is technically not the done thing, but can you not just buy the same top and then take the first top back but with the new receipt and ask for a refund?
I have had to do this in the past because the shop were not going to replace an item.
It worked fine. Good luck........:)0
