I think you had a valid reason to leave, psychiatric work is not easy. so under the conditions you describe its not good
All you can do is appeal and maybe ask for a crisis loan if you have nothing to live on.
Good luck0 -

Now there's a question for Martins Moral Maze, at first I looked at Woody01's response and thought 'thats a bit harsh' - then subsequently a thought occurred to me. Surely when you take a job as a support worker in a psychiatric establishment you expect abuse and danger. This is akin to a soldier quitting his job because people were shooting at him, or a fireman jacking it in because he kept getting burned.
I can see both sides of the argument and it must be stressful dealing with the mentally unbalanced, however before quitting the job due to stress surely the OP saw a doctor, if so any evidence she has there could be used to back up her case for JSA. Few people will argue with a doctors note.0 -
Appeal against the decision and send copies of the original decision as evidence. You have 28 days to do this.0

The only thing I can think of for you receiving a sanction after a letter stating that Decision Makers had allowed your claim, is that they subsequently received a letter from your former employer which prompted them to look at the decision again. I would suggest that on Monday, you phone your JCP and ask them to give you a basic explanation of the decision (they will tell you what the DM has written down on the paperwork returned to the JCP); if this does not give enough info, you can ask them to contact the Decision Makers who will give you an in depth explanation (they will arrange a time to phone you as they do not see people face to face). If at this stage, you are unhappy with the decision you should ask for a reconsideration (generally a lot quicker than an appeal)- and then your last stand would be an appeal.0

Can't be that, they would have sent the employer's letter to the OP for comment.
Does seem strange, something must have triggered a reconsideration. Or the letters have been misuderstood?0 -
Unless the OP did not receive the letter asking for comments? Then the DM would go on what the former employer stated?
OP, did you contact the JCP?0 -

I wonder how long the DMs would stay in the job if all the people they've aggrieved got the chance to give them a slap. :think:0
