Hello!, Does anyone perhaps know what my appointment at the job centre next week is f

So, I appplied for job seekers allowance a few weeks ago and when i went for my first interview thing to sign my jobseekers agreement my advisor said that i also have to have an appintment with a different advisor "upstairs" for something else as i am in the 18 - 24 Catagory.

The problem is that this interview is next wednsday And I Cannot for the life of me remember what it is for. So, Does anyone else have any idea as to what this interview is / or /And what it might entail. Thanks.

Are you kidding? We're helpful not pyschic :D

Have you claimed before quite recently? If so it could be that you have to go straight onto New Deal if the two claims link, if thats not the case then can I suggest you try ringing them, they are likely to be able to tell you.

Or you could just turn up for the interview and find out then.

When you apply for JSA, after a few weeks of being on it they ask you to attend a "Back to Work" interview.

This just means they will talk to you about what the JobCentre can do to support you and help you back to work.

You will get regular interviews, as they want to get you off JSA as soon as possible, so they will help you with these regular interviews. It can also include this "New Deal" scheme etc, as you are in the 18-24 group

Ah, it's getting clear now, the mist is lifting ... you're being called in to spin the claim form tombola, from which one lucky winner will have their application forms plucked out & processed !

    Here's hoping it's yours ! Good luck !

It will be one of the extra interviewa that are part of the Backing Young britain initiative. If the OP has only been claiming JSA for a few weeks it will just be an informal chat with an adviser to see if there is any additional support that he needs to find work.
  • *shrugs* Just go. Take your job search book with you and a copy of your CV (just in case) and you'll find out when you get there.

You need to ring the jobcentre and ask them - none of us on here can answer the question for you with any certainty.
