viewings, DIY or leave it to the EA?

I'm in two minds as to wether it would be best to let my EA do the viewings or if I should do them myself?. On the one hand i think a lot of people feel more comfortable with the EA but the EA can't answer all the questions and may fail to point out things such as its a quite street, we get on with the neighbours etc...
I was reading another thread and some people were saying it actually puts them off the house if its the vendor doing the viewings?
I know id prob have a more thorough look if the vendor isn't there but ultimately if i like the house id buy it either way. And on that point id rather people didn't start opening any of my cupboards as thats where i hide all the clutter:o

I'd prefer the chance to speak to the vendor. Get answers without the EA b-s.Act in haste, repent at leisure.

Having just viewed to buy from a personal view please leave the house for half an hour and let the EA show buyers round. Everytime the owners were present (or doing the viewing themselves) i felt i was invading not only their space but also their privacy. A strange one but just a natural occurrence. I didn't feel i could 'probe' around the house without feeling i might upset them for whatever reason. Any questions can be easily found out afterwards with a quick phone call.
Unsurprisingly, i am now buying a house which the owners left the property on both my viewings.0 -
EA first viewing. Vendors second so I can ask the nosey questions.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0
