Can't see that this has been posted before.
Until December 2006, the Home Office funded Payroll Giving Grants programme is rewarding small and medium sized enterprises with a grant of £300 to £500, simply for setting up Payroll Giving. What's more, the first £10 of each employee's monthly donations is matched, £ for £, for a period of six months (up until March 2007). So if your organisation has fewer than 500 employees, now is the time to sign up to Payroll Giving.

I used the Charities Aid Foundation to help set up a scheme for my business - they're very helpful and it's not too complicated: http://www.cafonline.org/Default.aspx?page=7285
To get the full benefit of the matching monthly grants, you'll need to start deducting donations from your employees by September 2006. Note that the £300/£500 grants are taxable.
