Has anyone got more than one of these accounts to get around the £7000 and £2500 limitations respectively for the high interest rates offered to positive balances?

Same goes for the Halifax account? Would they let you get more than one and get the £5 bonus again?

Ltsb will let you have up to 3.
  • LTSB allows 3 vantage accounts
HBOS allows 1 solo reward account and one in joint names
A&L I don't know, but anyone who does I'd be interested to know!

Lloyds - 3 Vantage and Halifax - one solo and joint. A&L t&c say you can have only one Premier Direct a/c, but I have two open and both get interest - however, I keep £2.5K in each - probably that is why A&L are turning a blind eye icon12.gif

Interesting - can I ask how you opened your second one? Were you able to do it online, or did you actually have to talk to someone on the phone/in a branch? I've reached the limit on mine, it would be good if I could open another one easily!
  • I have an old A&L premier direct account and I'd like to either get a second premier direct account, or upgrade the old one i have to a new one so i can get the higher rate AER for a year. Anyone upgraded on old issue account to a new version?

I too would be interested to know how the user above got two premier accounts with A&L.

If premier accounts are only for new customers and I close my A&L accounts, could i then sign up for a new account with them and be considered a new customer?

    Thanks.
  • Lloyds website says that you can have 3 vantage account. But you might have to struggle a bit to open them all up depending on what your local branch is like. My local branch was adamant that I was only allowed 1 of them. I had to resort to printing their website off before they'd allow me to apply for my second account.

I don't know if they have changed their rules but it used to be that you needed a gap of at least 6 months between closing one and opening a new current account with the favourable interest rates.

Yes...did it online. Just ignored the "important legal information"!

do both of your AL accounts show up on the same page in internet banking? May give it a punt, wonder if it would be too obvious to get reccomended by another person and so get the £25 aswell....
