need advice on potting a yukka

i had a yukka plant for years but it started to look very sad and then the last bunch of leaves fell off, i thought id try putting them in some water and there is now roots growing. Im totaly dumb regarding plants so can someone advice me if it will be ok to now put it in a pot and if so what soil do i use?

    Yuccas are surprisingly tough and just want to grow

    They will be OK to pot up, you can either buy some "multi purpose" compost from any garden centre or supermarket, or even at a pinch use garden soil, but this will almost certainly have weed seeds in it, so best avoided unless desperate
