tax credit renew

when you ring what do they ask you, how lomng is the cal, just want to be prepared when i call thanks

  • I rang the other day (in the evening - they tend to be a bit quieter then). After basic security including name, address and NI number, the advisor went through the details on my form and asked me about my children (full names and DOB, childcare costs, rate of DLA for my disabled son, and the date my daughter left full time education). She then asked questions about taxable income (including the amount for the financial year 2009/10) and benefits.

    Everything was fine and my claim was renewed over the phone, although I will get written details through the post (which I have to check - if they're wrong, I have to contact them, but if they are correct I don't need to do anything).

    It took just over five minutes.
