Starting your own thread rather than reviving an old one would be a great start.
As for your issue, you need to ask for the terms of the repair. As its not under SOGA or under a warranty then they could allow themselves ages.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Thanks for that helpful advice hudson0

i had the same problem. i think currys or is it comet ( i always gets the 2 mixed up) and pc world have the same whatever happens policy.
had my laptop from currys/comet just over 12 months and they had it for a month. waiting for parts.
so after quite a few phonecalls saying im not happy. dont want it back. etc in the end after keeping on at them. they agreed to scrap my laptop and i got sent vouchers.
keep on at them. x0 -
I had the same problem. I whacked my laptop with a sledgehammer and took it into PC World 2 years ago and they still have it.0

I also bought a laptop from pc world and 3 weeks after the 12 month warranty the hinge failed as the laptop was well looked after it was obviously a fault at manufacture. Was initialy told had no right for repair by the store as it was over 12 months. I wrote to pc world and quoted the sale of goods act in my letter and within days they agreed to fix it under costumer services and pay for the repair. It has now been in for repair for more than 28 days how long will I have to wait until I can ask for a replacement?0
