Howdens ktichen quote - does this sound right

Hi i am in the process of having a new kitchen organised and decided to go with the High Black Gloss from howdens. We are having a total of about 14 units (various shapes and sizes) a induction hob, built in oven and sink. Obviously i have plinth and end panels and worktop too. My quote for this was £4500. I arranged for the items to be ordered yesterday by my joiner but today a friend has said she has the same kitchen but in white with 12 units, no sink, hob or oven from howdens a year ago for £1500.
Any advice with this would be great. Do you think this price sounds about right.

sounds a lot. does it include fitting/
your friends may not have been like for like with your quote?
check other threads here on kitchen, lots of answers about kitchens.
you dont have to buy the appliances from them. joiners can mark up whatever they want on howdens trade prices.0 -

Thanks for replying. That does not include fitting i have a seperate quote for that. I have read through some of them and used google to look up some stuff. I did find a website which seemed to price the units but was not sure how good the site was.

At the bottom it gave the option to price things and it gave the units as £200-£300 and worked out about rights."I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I'd say your fitter isn't passing on any discount he will be getting from Howdens, I think my kitchen cost that including the fitting but I sourced worktop, sink and appliances elsewhere.
If your fitter has already ordered I'd say you are a bit late to be having second thoughts?0 -
Cancel that order right away if you can.
My local Howdens let me open a trade account. At that point you can get everything less than half the price some builders try to sell it at, no haggling, it's just the trade price.0 -
By the way you do have to have a credit check for a trade account, but you don't have even to pretend or hint that you are actually a tradesperson.0
