Bathrooom refurb – order of work.

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me on the order of work for a bathroom refurb.

It’s an approx 4mx 2.5 m room (2.6.high).I’ve stripped the wallpaper off ceiling and the walls (lath & plaster) and these aren’t too bad.
I’ve removed the tiles and most of wall is OK but in some areas chunks of plaster came off so will need some work before retiling

I’d like the walls around the bath tiled to ¾ height and to fit the easipanel T&G panels and dado around the remainder of walls.. I have a shower over the bath. The floor is varnished.

I’m then unsure as to whether I should have the walls skimmed above the tiles and panels then painted, or lined and painted or just re wallpapered.

If I did this what order do I get the work done? (in particular how do you avoid damaging bath if have to paint and tile over it?)
If skimming and painting do I get that all done first?.
Then is it:
ceiling wallpapered and painted
fit Easipanels and paint
fit Bath suite
tile and fit shower
I was going to strip and re varnish floor so I do that last- or strip floor earlier when suite is out and varnish at the end?

I know if I got one company in they could just do it alI but I'm also wondering what I can do myself to keep the costs down- i.e line and paint- though not sure if it's a good idea to line and paint a bathroom.? I dont have extraction but have a window and it's a naturally draughty room ;-)

Can anyone help?

Thanks
C

I'm struggling to remember the full order we did things in, but the tiler found it easier to tile up to an already fitted bath, but tiled the wall before the sink was fitted.

I would think stripping the floor while the room is empty will be easiest and any work on the ceiling is best done without the risk of damaging the new suite or floor covering.

    Hope that's some help..
