mileage request on new purchase...

Hi, Iam posting on behalf of my brother and was wondering if when buying a second hand vehicle ( private ) you can find a site or organisation that will be able to tell you if the car has the correct mileage... perhaps old mots... to cut a long story short this car is registered 2003 but only has 30,000 miles on the clock, alarm bells are ringing for me and idont want my younger influensial brother making a big mistake... thanks Paul.

request the mot test number and use this site, which will give you past MOTs going back to 2006

HPI check should flag up any mileage issues.

Cheap ones can be unreliable. Get a proper one.

Glad i came on here and enquired... this car is a nail... It s mileage does nt add up and it has a category d on it from a smash 3 years ago... oh and to make matters worse it has finance remaining, some people should be locked up for selling on problems like this... thanks again everyone... Paul
