thanks steph, we've had a nightmare and have come up against a brick wall. do anyone know if you have the right to a refund instead of having the dress fixed like the shop wants to do0

How is the dress faulty?
tbh if the wedding is 8 weeks away, your daughter may have to ask herself would it be possible to get a replacement and get it altered in time?2014 Target;

Faulty in what way? It's not a nightmare...it's fixable. A nightmare is the Bride finding out at the reception that her husband has been regularly having it away with the Best Maid!0

Hi Nanny,
Depends on what the fault is. As long as it is a real defect with the dress covered under the sale of goods act 1979 (as amended) you can argue that the repair is causing significant inconvenience - if it causes this, you do not have to accept the repair and can ask for a refund. The retailer does not always get the opportunity to repair. Speak with consumer direct if you don't get it resolved.0 -
Key thing to think in this situation is what do you want?
New dress? Great repair? Refund?0 -

Actually think, having contributed to your other thread on this board, that your comment is a total over-generalisation and pretty offensive to those who actually try and help.
Those that "aren't worth asking" may actually be able to offer more constructive advice than you can provide.0 -
LOL!!!
Sorry Equaliser I didn't mean you love the other posts on my thread that haven't been so help I meant not you. I think that when people genuinely have a problem they come here and then most people take the mick or don't think your telling the truth.
The wedding board is a really good option for something like this there is a dress maker on their and a few other ladies that would be able to give advice on what you can and can't do.0
