e.g. ornamental orange plants, lemon, lime etc.

Anyone know of anywhere that sell these relatively cheap? Obviously not Tescos etc :P

Thanks

You may be able to pick up a reduced citrus plant at a garden centre. I've been to two recently where, frankly, the citrus plants looked very sorry for themselves and they were reduced to 6 pounds. With my history of killing citrus plants, I didn't think I'd chance it.

B&Q have a few left. I think they are about ten pounds. I've wasted money on them in the past. No matter how careful I am - the right compost, the right feed, the right site - they always turn up their toes.

Parkers, the mail order specialists, may be more reliable. They are £14 pounds each or three for £34:

You get the 'real deal' from The Citrus Centre, the specialists selling top quality goods - but you have to pay for all that expertise. I know they look expensive but the website is an excellent source of information and well worth a look:

Blimey, I sound like I'm an expert - so let me assure you that, while I love the plants, I've never, ever, succeeded in growing a cheap one.

Hope you find what you're looking for and that other MSE-ers will be along shortly with some recommendations - I'd be grateful for any pointers or tips myself.

Do you want them for fruit or just the nice glossy leaves?

If just nice house plant then grow them from citrus pips, orange, grapefruit, lemon, tangerine etc, dead easy and make lovely plants in a very short time

And you never know, may even fruit! My grapefruit, over ten years old, has not, but I live in hope that one day it will have blossom on it
