DWP Tribunal appeal win

Newbie on here, so please bear with me.
Last August I was denied ESA despite having a long term illness & appealed.
This week I won the appeal & was awarded ESA with the WRA component.

How long should it take the DWP to sort out the money i am owed or how long should I wait before calling them to ask for it?

Cheers in advance

It should take 4 to 6 weeks to receive the backdated benefit.

Should I start getting the right amount from my next payment? or will that take the same amount of time?

It will depend if they have time to adjust the payment, it would probably be best to ring them and ask and this may speed things up for you.

  • well done on winning your appeal.

I had to fight with them as well over ESA - not enough staff trained to deal with this new legislation.

They wanted me to write down a weekly diary on how my cancer affected me.
