Can I claim ?

First of all , if I have posted this in the wrong room then please forgive me ! Anyhoo , my question is this. If you get a definate date from your housing association or council , in respect of a repair , if the association or council break that date , can you claim for the extra days taken to complete the repair? . I had a letter from my association informing me that a repair to my woodburner would be completed by the 16th of this month.
It was completed today , 22nd April. This same association took three years to repair a leaking chimney that heavily stained our bedroom to the point where we could barely sleep there. A contractor called in to look at the room told me the staining was sulphuric acid among other nasties. And we had to endure this for three years before action was taken. And if I so much as fall behind with my rent by a day or so , we get letters threatening court action for repossesion !.
If any one can give me any advice , it would be warmly welcome!!!!!

What exactly are you claiming for?
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Send them a letter threatening court action then.

If you want to claim for your time off work, you will have to convert that to a monetary value and include it in your letter.
